Anyone Still Practicing Good Parenting Out There?

Times they are changing???
Back when i was a kid my parents yelled, hounded my teachers at school and sometimes gave me a good ass kicking to keep me in line. Now i'm not saying that hitting your kids is always the best choice but i will say that from someone that used to get a good spanking, i learned to respect my parents, never embarrass them in public and never yelled at them. Even at the ripe old age of 22 i still would NEVER say Shut up or leave me alone to my dear old dad.
I'm a big CNN viewer and i love Dr.Drew on HLN, have you noticed how many parents try and sue ...i don't know McDonalds because they offer toys with their happy meals and their children "demand" to have them and the parents are soooo powerless against their children that they give in to their every demand?? Yeah,i read.

Now i may not be a parent but I do believe that there should be boundaries, and limits on what you allow your child to do. I know when i have kids the word "sexy" isn't going to be in my child's vocabulary until she's 15. Not 2 nor 5.

I know that media and clothing companies are to blame to SOME extend, they target young girls plant seeds in their head about what they think they should wear.

But it should be the parents responsibility over their child to guide them in a direction that is more fitting for a teenager.Say No, don't be afraid to say No.Let your daughter get to the age where she can actually fill in her bras. They shouldn't be dressed like they're going out clubbing, they shouldn't wear booty shorts, what are you telling people about yourself, letting your child dress or act a certain way?? Its a reflection of yourself as a parent.Try being more of a parent then trying to be a "friend", and maybe just stop living vicariously through your kids, gee you had your chance.
