Anyone Still Practicing Good Parenting Out There?

Times they are changing???
Back when i was a kid my parents yelled, hounded my teachers at school and sometimes gave me a good ass kicking to keep me in line. Now i'm not saying that hitting your kids is always the best choice but i will say that from someone that used to get a good spanking, i learned to respect my parents, never embarrass them in public and never yelled at them. Even at the ripe old age of 22 i still would NEVER say Shut up or leave me alone to my dear old dad.
I'm a big CNN viewer and i love Dr.Drew on HLN, have you noticed how many parents try and sue ...i don't know McDonalds because they offer toys with their happy meals and their children "demand" to have them and the parents are soooo powerless against their children that they give in to their every demand?? Yeah,i read.

Now i may not be a parent but I do believe that there should be boundaries, and limits on what you allow your child to do. I know when i have kids the word "sexy" isn't going to be in my child's vocabulary until she's 15. Not 2 nor 5.

I know that media and clothing companies are to blame to SOME extend, they target young girls plant seeds in their head about what they think they should wear.

But it should be the parents responsibility over their child to guide them in a direction that is more fitting for a teenager.Say No, don't be afraid to say No.Let your daughter get to the age where she can actually fill in her bras. They shouldn't be dressed like they're going out clubbing, they shouldn't wear booty shorts, what are you telling people about yourself, letting your child dress or act a certain way?? Its a reflection of yourself as a parent.Try being more of a parent then trying to be a "friend", and maybe just stop living vicariously through your kids, gee you had your chance.

Who are you? A brief introduction.

I suppose this is my way of introducing myself. I'll keep it brief and to the point just so you know what you're getting yourself into.

I'm an artist, i've been painting and drawing since i was about 7 years old when my mother brought home a drawing of Mickey Mouse, i liked it so much that i redrew it and found out i was pretty good. The rest is pretty much history and my mother still remains interested in whatever it is that i produce.

I like to drink. I don't drink as much as i used to be before but when i do i like to drink something with taste. I like my beer dark and with personality much like myself. I enjoy sitting down with a beer and good company.

I care too much, meaning yes, i'm one of those people that would rather watch CNN then watch the Real Housewives or whatever. We're slowing turning into a country were we care more about what's going on with Charlie Sheen than actually worrying about the massive amounts of actual news. It's a sad world and that's the reason behind this blog.

I'm single, I take dating very seriously, because after the first couple of months once that passion is gone and your actually at the point where you're really dating you realize "heeey this is actual work". To make something work,it takes effort, time and respect. Which i'm ready to allow myself to give just haven't found someone that is worth the effort. We live in a society where things move fast, and thus so do relationships. People don't want to take the time to get to really know one another. And that's not really my cup of tea.
Side note:
This blog isn't really about me. At least won't be on an extremely personal level.Or try and keep it to a minimum folks.

Anywho it is 2 AM and i'm cutting this one short, i'm far from brain dead and my creativity went out the door  just trying to set this whole blogging business up.
